Why You Will Love this Recipe

This drink is truly so delightful and the perfect way to cool off during the summer months. You only need a few simple ingredients to bring this refreshing mocktail to life. It can be easily customized to your preferences and even be made into a cocktail.

Tajin seasoning on a plate to be used to season the rim of a glass for a sparkling grapefruit mocktail.

What You Need

  • Grapefruit Sparkling Water – Spindrift is my favorite. If you can’t find grapefruit sparkling water, you can do plain sparkling water and add more fresh grapefruit juice
  • Fresh Grapefruit – for juice and garnish
  • Simple Syrup
  • Tajin – optional for the rim of the glass

Make a Sparkling Grapefruit Mocktail

The first step to making this mocktail, is preparing the simple syrup. It is super easy to do and is the perfect way to sweeten up any drink. It is a simple mix of water and sugar, the instructions are in the recipe card below.

Next, season the rim of the glass with Tajin. Tajin is a bold spice mixture with Chile and lime at the forefront. It is tangy, salty and has just a tiny hint of spice. This is an optional step but I love the depth that it adds to this drink.

The rest of the recipe is assembly. You make a mixture of the simple syrup and fresh grapefruit juice and pour that into the bottom of each glass. Add ice and then top off with the grapefruit sparkling water. Stir and add a wedge of fresh grapefruit to garnish.

Recipe Tips

I love this recipe because you can customize it to your preferences. I like mine a little sweeter than my husband does, so I add more simple syrup to mine. Taste and adjust as needed, you can be flexible with it.

To make this a cocktail – you can add a shot of your favorite clear liquor, like vodka or tequila.
