I love to share mostly healthy recipes with some indulgent ones sprinkled in because I believe in balance. They are all delicious and created with so much love.
I started this blog as a self taught cook who is on a lifelong journey of healing, both body and mind. My relationship with food has been a complicated one but it has made me who I am today.

Behind the history of the recipes
I originally started this blog back in 2017 when I was sharing my weight loss journey on social media. People were requesting recipes for the food I was sharing so I published The Bettered Blondie as a way to bring them to you all.
My journey with food has been complicated as I stated above, starting with my first diet at 11 years old. I have been on every diet known to man since then. Lost and gained so many times.
In 2022, I was 330 lbs and felt completely hopeless. I decided to undergo weight loss surgery and it changed my life. I lost 110 pounds and it gave me the chance I needed to heal my relationship with food (although I am always a work in progress).
I love to eat, I love to cook, I love to try new things, and experience cultures and flavors through food. My goal is always to continue my life enjoying these things while maintaining a healthy mind and body.
You will find a whole variety of recipes here – gluten free, Whole30, full fat and indulgent, cocktails, mocktails and so much more. There is something here for everyone.
