Classic Whiskey Sour
This classic Whiskey Sour is the perfect combination of sweet, sour and smooth whiskey flavors. It has quickly become my favorite cocktail to enjoy at home. This recipe only requires a few simple ingredients but they come together beautifully for a delicious libation at home.

What You Need:
- Good Single Malt Whiskey – we love Stranahans because we are from Colorado and it’s the best!
- Fresh Lemon Juice
- Fresh Lime Juice
- Sugar Syrup – instructions below
- Maraschino Cherries
- Ice

Let’s Make A Whiskey Sour:
- The first step is to make the simple syrup – you will add 1 cup sugar to 1 cup water in small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Once the sugar is dissolved, transfer to a glass jar and cool completely before using. This makes more than you need for this recipe, keep it in an airtight container in the fridge for later use.
- Add the whiskey, lemon juice, lime juice and simple syrup to a large glass measuring cup and stir thoroughly. (I like mine a little sweeter and my husband likes his a little more sour, so I add a little extra simple syrup to my glass)
- Add 1-2 large ice cubes to each cocktail glass and pour the cocktail over top. Add in a maraschino cherry and enjoy!
