Easy Ham and Asparagus Quiche

This Easy Ham and Asparagus Quiche is the perfect breakfast or brunch dish. The flakey, buttery crust is filled with a delicious egg based custard. The ham and gruyere are savory and pair perfectly with the fresh asparagus.

Why You Will Love this Recipe

To keep this recipe easy but still delicious, we use a store bought pie crust. All you have to do is make the filling, bake and you get a perfect, flavorful quiche every time. This Ham and Asparagus Quiche is a favorite in my home and I know you will love it too.

Ingredients

  • Frozen Pie Crust – I use a deep dish pie crust to make sure I have room for all that delicious filling
  • Eggs
  • Ham – you can use leftover ham, buy pre-diced ham or use a ham steak
  • Asparagus
  • Half N’ Half
  • Gruyere Cheese – this cheese is nutty, flavorful and creamy. You can find it in almost all stores in the fancier cheese section. You can also use Swiss cheese as an alternative
  • Butter
  • Yellow Onion
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Fresh Chives

Let’s Make Ham and Asparagus Quiche

This is a brief rundown of the recipe, complete measurements and instructions can be found in the recipe card at the end of the post

Step One: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit 
Add the butter to a small skillet over medium heat and add the diced onion – cook until just translucent (about 5 minutes)
Set the cooked onion aside to cool

Step Two: Add the eggs, half n’ half, salt and pepper to a small mixing bowl and whisk until fully combined

Step Three: Add the diced ham, chopped asparagus, shredded cheese and cooled onion into the frozen deep dish pie crust

Step Four: Carefully pour the egg mixture over the top and gently stir to combine

Step Five: Set the pie pan on a baking sheet in case of spilling and bake for about 40 minutes or until the center is just set 

Recipe Notes

  • I use a deep dish frozen pie crust for this recipe, you can find them in any grocery store in the frozen section. I like to use deep dish so there is enough room for all that delicious filling
  • You can store the cooked quiche in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days
  • The easiest way to reheat leftover quiche is in the microwave for about 45 seconds to a minute – you just want it warmed through or it could get rubbery
  • This is the perfect recipe to help use up that leftover Easter ham

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Add the butter to a small skillet over medium heat and add the diced onion – cook until just translucent (about 5 minutes)
    Set the cooked onion aside to cool
  • Add the eggs, half n' half, salt and pepper to a small mixing bowl and whisk until fully combined
  • Add the diced ham, chopped asparagus, shredded cheese and cooled onion into the frozen deep dish pie crust – stir to combine together
  • Carefully pour the egg mixture over the top and gently stir to combine
  • Set the pie pan on a baking sheet in case of spilling and bake for about 40 minutes or until the center is just set
  • Remove from heat and let cool before slicing
    Top with fresh chives and enjoy!
