How to Make Spaghetti Squash in the Instant Pot

I love spaghetti squash, it is such a delicious base for any meal. I used to always roast it in the oven but then I tried it in my Instant Pot and it was amazing! It cooks so quickly and has the perfect texture. You can put a whole squash in (depending on the size) or cut it in half. I have tried it both ways and it comes out perfectly either way.

How to Make Spaghetti Squash in the Instant Pot
For a Whole Squash:
  1. Pour 1 cup of water in the base of the Instant Pot and then place the metal trivet in the bottom
  2. Pierce the squash with a sharp knife, two-three slits
  3. Place the whole squash on top of the trivet, close the lid and seal the steam valve
  4. Set to manual pressure and time for 20 minutes
  5. When the timer goes off, quick release the steam, remove the squash and cut in half. Remove the seeds and shred squash with a fork

Cutting the Squash:
  1. Pour 1 cup of water in the bottom of the Instant Pot and place the metal trivet in the bottom
  2. Cut the squash in half using a sharp knife and remove the seeds
  3. Place both halves of the squash on the metal trivet, close the lid and seal the steam valve
  4. Set to manual pressure and time for 7 minutes
  5. When the timer goes off, quick release the steam and remove the squash. Shred squash with a fork

  • Pierce the squash with a sharp knife 2-3 times and place the whole squash on the trivet
  • Close the lid and seal the steam valve. Set to manual pressure and time for 20 minutes
  • When timer goes off, do a quick release and remove the squash from the Instant Pot. Cut in half and remove the seeds. Shred squash with a fork

Cut Squash

  • Pour 1 cup of water in the bottom of the Instant Pot and place the metal trivet in the bottom
  • Cut the squash in half using a sharp knife and remove the seeds. Place the squash halves on the metal trivet
  • Close the lid, seal the steam valve. Set to manual pressure and time for 7 minutes
  • When timer goes off, do a quick release and remove the squash from the Instant Pot. Shred squash with a fork
