When the biscuits are in the oven, we can start making the sausage gravy. This begins by browning the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heatAfter the sausage is nicely browned and mostly cooked through, you will add in the half & half. Bring the liquid to a boil and then reduce to a simmerThe half & half will begin to thicken, stir in the salt, pepper, sage and pepper flakes (if using) Once the mixture has thickened to a gravy consistency, turn off the burner and remove from heat
Serve the sausage gravy over the drop biscuits - top with more fresh cracked pepper and enjoy!
