  • 2 lbs Ground Beef
  • 3 Yellow Onions thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbls Avocado Oil divided
  • 1 Tbls Ghee
  • 2 tsp Salt divided
  • 1 tsp Pepper divided
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 clove Garlic minced

  • Pre-heat the oven to 375'
  • In a large mixing bowl, add in the ground beef, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp pepper
Mix to combine and form into 12 equal sized patties
Place the formed patties onto a lined baking sheet in the fridge
  • Heat 1 Tbls of the avocado oil and the ghee in a large cast iron skillet over medium low heat
Add in the onions and let cook (stirring occasionally) until slightly brown and caramelized (about 15-20 minutes)
When done, turn off the heat and stir in the minced garlic
Remove from pan and let cool completely
  • Take the patties out of the fridge and season the outside with remaining salt & pepper, garlic powder, and paprika
Place about 1 Tbls of the onions in the center of 6 of the patties and use the other 6 patties on top
Use hands to form back into full size patties with the onions on the inside
  • Add remaining avocado oil to the cast iron skillet and bring to medium/high heat
Once hot, place the burgers in the skillet and cook on each side for 4 minutes
Then place the skillet in the oven to finish cooking
Cook to your preference. For medium rare, cook about 5 minutes in the oven. Increase time for medium and well done
