  • 4 oz Tequila Blanco or Silver
  • 2 oz Orange Liqueur Cointreau or Grand Marniere
  • 1 1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/4 cup Kosher Salt
  • Agave or Simple Syrup Optional; to taste

  • Pour the tequila, orange liqueur and lime juice into a measuring glass and stir
  • Place the salt on a small plate and use lime wedge to run around the rim of each glass, then dip in the salt to coat the rim
Fill each glass with ice and pour the margarita mix over top
Serve with a fresh lime slice and enjoy!

  • Tequila - Blanco or Silver. These light color tequilas are young and have a stronger flavor that mixes well. Look for one that is 100% agave for the best quality with no added fillers.
  • Orange Liqueur - Cointreau is a more traditional option, I used Grand Marniere (also a common option) both work well in this recipe. It is really up to your personal preference. I love both.
  • Fresh Lime Juice - you will not get the same results if you don't use fresh lime juice. I juice the limes right before we are ready to serve for the best taste.
  • Salt - this is to salt the rim. You can omit if you don't like it.
  • (Optional) Agave or Simple Syrup for sweetness. I personally don't like it with any added sweetener, but liquid agave or simple syrup are the best options. I have a recipe for simple syrup in this post HERE.
