Happy Friday, Loves. Are you ready for the weekend? I sure am! Our kid’s sports are winding down for the season, and although I’ve been loving watching them play, I am relieved to have a little bit of extra time in our schedule. I also can’t believe school is almost out for the summer – Samuel had his Kindergarten Graduation on Wednesday, and it was so sweet. I’m excited to catch up with you guys on this busy and fun week. Grab your cup of coffee or glass of wine, and let’s get started.
You guys, I have been a Walmart fan for years, but they are killing it right now! Dare I say Walmart is the new Target? On Tuesday night, I went on a Walmart outing all by myself – a true motherhood luxury. I enjoyed wandering the isles and here’s what I found – all under $10:
Weight Loss Journey
It’s been three weeks since my Gastric Sleeve Surgery, and I am down 28 pounds. I am still in the recovery phase, but have been introducing small amounts of soft protein. For me, that looks like 1-2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, soft salmon, tuna, or refried beans. Physically I am feeling really good, but the process can be really draining mentally. I was telling my sister that I am craving fruit so bad. I look forward having more variety in my diet, but each step is also a little scary. It’s just a strange feeling re-learning how to eat. I had some non-scale victories too. I was able to wear a super cute tee that I bought as a ‘goal’ shirt! That felt so good.
Styling the Back Patio
One of the fun parts of owning a new home is taking time to tackle projects and make it our own. It can also be a little intimidating making all the choices. Right now, I am working on our back patio. I ordered a table, loveseat, chairs, and an outdoor rug from Target while they were having an outdoor sale. I also have a few planters out there, and might add more. My vision is to have a place to sit outside and drink my coffee, journal, or work for a little bit. Shop the Target sale HERE.
Whether you’re on a weight loss journey like me, or just trying to make meals your whole family will love, delicious protein is so important. Sometimes cooking the same meats every week can get bland and boring. Here’s a few of my favorite protein recipes to incorporate into your meal planning:
Antiquing in Small Town Texas
On Sunday, I went antiquing with Abby, and we had so much fun. I found a few treasures that I am so excited about. The first was a Louis Vuitton Neverfull dupe – score! I love big bags, and this is a classic look that goes with everything. It made me feel very trendy lol. I also found a gorgeous portrait that I didn’t take home, but actually went back for. It’s now styled on my built-in shelves in the living room. I will definitely be going back to hunt for things from time-to-time because there were so many great shops.
Thanks for taking the time to read my Friday Favorites. As always, let me know what you want to see more of.
