Hi Loves! My name is Sara and I am the woman behind The Bettered Blondie. I first started to learn how to cook when I was a brand new military wife at just 20 years old. I had no idea what I was doing! I would watch Food Network when my husband was at work. I very quickly discovered a passion for food and cooking. This blog evolved from a love for food, combined with a journey towards health. Now, I get to share healthy, delicious and easy meals with all of you!
Here are a few pictures of my family, I am happily married to my best friend. We met in high school and have been married for 12 years. My amazing firstborn Abigail is now 10 years old (she’s growing so fast!). My miracle rainbow baby boy Samuel is now 4 years old. And our newest little addition, Owen is 2 months old! They are my life and my joy.



As for my weight loss journey, it has been a very up and down story, and I know many of you can relate to that. I was overweight as a little girl and it has been a struggle ever since then. I lost 60 pounds in 2017, but I had gained it back after some difficult struggles with my health. I am 2 months postpartum and am now continuing my journey towards losing 100 lbs.
I am very open with my struggles with binge eating and food addiction, I believe it is important to talk about these issues. It is not easy but if we can encourage and support each other, we are more likely to overcome these strongholds.
I know how hard it can be hard to heal a broken relationship with food. Many of us have believed the wrong things for so long and it is hard to change those beliefs and re-learn a whole new way of relating to food. I am very much a work in progress, but I am here to let you know that you are not alone and that healthy food can be delicious too! We are in this together.
My goal is to share healthy recipes that still taste amazing. And with that, I want to encourage in whatever stage you may be in your personal journey towards health. I love you all so much,
